La Matanza is one of the most populated (and dangerous) barriosin the outskirts of Buenos Aires. Young people live by expedients and they often fall into criminality and drug consumption, especially paco, the local crack, which causes terrible addiction and unconsciousness.

The Equine Therapy Centre is a safe and welcoming place in the area. It offers low-cost treatments to poor families with disabled or autistic children (big incidence in La Matanza). The Centre adopts a methodology that focuses on the relationship between man and horse: through this magnificent tool, the children find lost energies, “flourish”, show prompt physical and mental improvements and face these diseases with more strength and hope.

Main Objective

To improve the quality of assistance of the Equine Therapy Centre and to create a new meeting point for the youth of the area

Specific Objectives

• Provide the Centre proper equipments and tools
• Involve the youth of the area in the Centre’s activities and educate them on respecting the “difference”
• Provide vocational training to youth concerning equestrian environment, in order to make them become artesans
